About Stonelake Animal Hospital in Elk Grove

Elk Grove has grown a great deal over the past decade, and the care available to its pets has had to grow with it.

Independent, family owned, and still run by the veterinarian who opened it.

Stonelake Animal Hospital opened in 2018 as an independent, family owned practice for local dogs and cats, and eight years on it is still owned by the veterinarian who started it. We are open until 7:00 PM on weekdays, and se habla español. What we set out to build was a practice where your pet is known rather than moved through a queue.

Dr. Amoldeep Singh Toor established this practice in 2018. The California premises permit for 2521 W Taron Ct was issued in October 2017, and the doors opened the following January after the fit-out was finished, in the Stonelake neighborhood the hospital is named for. He still practices here, and he still owns it.

Family owned is not a decorative phrase in our case. We are not part of a veterinary chain and we do not answer to a corporate group, which means the decisions about how long an appointment runs, how a case is worked up and how a client is spoken to are made in this building by the people who will live with them. That has been true since the first day we opened, and it is the thing we have most deliberately protected as we have grown.

We practice relationship based care. Every pet gets individual attention and a thorough medical evaluation, and every owner gets the time it takes to actually understand what we found and what the options are. If you leave an appointment here unsure what we said, we have not finished the appointment. That approach is the reason we operate differently from the commercial chains, and it is the difference our clients tell us they notice first.

We also try to be honest about what a veterinary visit feels like from the other side of the exam table. Animals arrive nervous, anxious or frightened, and how they are handled in the first two minutes shapes the entire visit and the next one.

He was born and raised in Punjab, India, and earned his veterinary degree from Punjab Agricultural University in 2010. He went on to complete the ECFVG clinical program under AVMA guidelines, which is the standard route by which a veterinarian trained outside North America becomes eligible for licensure in the United States, and he holds a current California veterinary license. He opened Stonelake Animal Hospital in 2018 and continues to see patients here alongside running it. Away from the practice he is married, and he spends his time outdoors, with music, and traveling.

He holds a current California veterinary license, earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University in 2010, and has an interest in new surgical techniques and medical procedures.

Dr. Toor is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and of the California Veterinary Medical Association. Both are professional memberships he holds as an individual veterinarian. Neither is an accreditation or a certification held by the hospital, and neither is a specialty board certification.
